Military Gives Update on Invasion of Police Station by Naval Officers

The Nigerian military has commenced investigations into the invasion of the Enerhen Police State in Warri, Delta by naval officers.

During the attack, a naval officer beat up a police sergeant identified simply as Kingsley leaving him with a bloodshot eye.

During further confrontation between officers of the two security agencies, one of the policemen threatened to open a teargas canister on the navy operative.

Punch reports that when contacted, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Navy, Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, said the naval officials have been arrested and held in detention.

He said, “Good morning. They have been arrested and detained for quick investigation and strict disciplinary action.”

It is however uncertain why the security personnel were involved in the fracas.

On its part, the Delta State Police spokesman, Bright Edafe, when contacted on the development said they are treating the matter internally.
