Music

International music channel, MTV Base, has placed a ban on Marlian music following the circumstances surrounding the death of 27-year-old singer, Mohbad.

Marlian Music is a record label owned by singer, Naira Marley who has been accused of ‘having a hand’ in Mohbad’s demise.

After the controversial death of Mohbad, some radio stations around the country decided to place a “Not to Be Broadcast” (NTTB) ban on all the songs under the Marlian Records Label.

The ban by MTV was announced by popular TV host, Ehizojie Okoeguale aka DadaBoy Ehiz, a staff of the music channel.

He made the announcement on his X handle on Wednesday, September 20.

He tweeted: “Mtvbase dropped everything Marlian … kudos to dem.”

The move by MTV comes after the emergence of several videos of harassment and bullying of Mohbad, leading many to point accusing fingers at the label’s boss and his well-known associate, Sam Larry.
