Over 200,000 people have signed the petition calling for the ban of Marlian Records, the music label owned by Naira Marley, in the wake of the death of popular singer, Mohbad.
Mohbad, 27, d!ed in controversial circumstances on Tuesday and was laid to rest on Wednesday.
The police in Lagos have commenced investigations to unravel the cause of his death.
A Change.Org petition by an anonymous blogger has been initiated on the matter.
As at the 16th of September, the petition has amassed over 200,000 signatures.
Before his d3ath, Mohbad had series of misunderstandings with Naira Marley, the singer who signed him to the Marlian label.
At the peak of the face-off which left him broken and depressed, he exited the label and went solo.
The Change.Org petition is now requesting that an investigation should be carried out on why Mohbad could not appear before the police after he was previously summoned over his squabbles with industry executives.
It called for a thorough investigation of the Marlian Music brand and Sam Larry Elegushi, the music promoter.
The cause of Mohbad’s death is still unknown, although allegations have been rife.
Joseph Aloba, his father, revealed that Mohbad died after an auxiliary nurse was invited to inject him.
Omowunmi, the partner of Mohbad, also recounted the singer’s struggles when he was alive.
The police would later announce a comprehensive investigation into Mohbad’s death on Thursday.
