Oladimeji Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer, Mohbad, has finally addressed the allegation of demanding his grandson’s placenta after his birth.
Omawunmi, Mohbad’s wife, had disclosed at the Lagos coroner inquest on Tuesday, that the relationship with her father-in-law, Oladimeji, became strained after the birth of her son, Liam.
She told the coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that Mohbad’s father became angry with her because Mohbad refused to hold Liam’s naming ceremony in Ikorodu.
According to Omawunmi, Mohbad’s father believed she was driving a wedge between him and Mohbad, a suspicion that put a strain on their relationship.
She added that he began to dislike her even more for also refusing to give him her newborn son’s placenta.
Reacting to Wunmi’s allegations, Mohbad’s father took to social media to respond with a song.
Joseph Aloba prayed for God’s mercy, insisting he was unaware of what he is accused of that that turned him to a subject of public discussion.
He added that posterity will judge him and Wunmi over the accusation.
In his words, “God, please have mercy on me. They said I asked for the placenta of my own grandson. Doesn’t the son belong to the father? I don’t know what they said I did that they keep talking about me everywhere? May Adabi judge between us.“
