More Nigerian youths have turned down Governor Babajide Santo-Olu’s invitation to ‘Walk for Peace.”
An hour ago, Folarin aka Falz threw more light on his reason for turning down the invitation. According to him,
“Please tell your governor that there is no “March for peace” without justice.
“He is still trying to deny the massacre that happened. All the lives that were wiped away unjustly.
“You set up a panel to investigate the matter. Panel don tell you say people die by the hands of soldiers and policemen wey una send.
“Una still no want no want do the right thing.
“And you’re here asking for a ‘peace march’
“DISGRACEFUL.“
Fierry lawyer and activist who was also invited simply responded that “I do not walk in the company of murderers”:
Femi Kuti on his part posting via his instagram page as bigbirdkuti advised from “Birds Eye View.” Work for justice Mr Gov, that’s why we put u there. There is no need to Walk for peace! Peace is a by product of Just society. Give justice, Get peace. @mopcentre
Young activist Rinu Oduala @savvyrinu who was very actively vocal during the #EndSARS protest told the Governor that:
“No peace without justice!
No healing without justice!
We want work on justice, not empty walks!
Police brutality is still prevalent in Lagos state!
One in every four young person under the age of 18-35 is harassed, extorted, brutalized or profiled by police officers every 30 minutes in Lagos !
Fix the problem! Stop gaslighting! “
A flyer is currently being shared by the youths to sensitise everyone on their mood currently.
