A kidnap victim in Benin City, Edo State Capital has narrated how her kidnapper raped her twice a day for 7 days.
According to the 16-year-old senior secondary school student, her abductor still demanded a ransom for her release in spite of the serial violations.
The unnamed victims said she met the suspect, 19-year-old Tajudeen Igikalo on Facebook in February 2021 and they started chatting on friendly terms.
After several weeks of constant social media private conversations, Igikalo invited her to his apartment at Egba on the Benin-Auchi Road where he abducted and molested her for an entire week.
Confirming the report, Edo State police command who rescued the captive disclosed that the teenage girl visited her supposed boyfriend for the first time in his apartment on Thursday, the 25th of March after school hours.
“To her greatest shock, the suspect allegedly kidnapped her on the spot and she spent seven days in captivity.
“The suspect then allegedly removed the SIM card from her mobile phone and then contacted her family demanding N3 million ransom for her release“

The police added that “He threatened to sell the girl whose name is not mentioned because she is a minor, to Fulani herders if they failed to pay the ransom.
“Four days after, on March 29, the girl’s mother rallied N550,000. On Thursday, 1 April, the victim was rescued at a residential address in Egba on Benin-Auchi Road after investigators arrested the suspect.
Recounting her ordeal to newsmen after she was rescued, the young lady said, “I met him on Facebook last month. He asked me to visit him, and I never knew he had plan to kidnap me. I have never had sex before. He raped me twice a day for 7 days. I am still in pain now.”
Giving his own account, the suspect said he kidnapped the girl because he needed money to sort out some issues.
According to him, “I have been chatting with her on Facebook since February 2021, and we agreed to meet. I called the mother for ransom because I need money to sort out some issues.”
He added that , “I spent two years in Ghana and returned to Nigeria recently.”
Confirming the arrest of the suspect, spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, SP Bello Kontongs said that the suspect will be charged to court for kidnapping.
Kontongs cautioned that “Our young girls must be watchful of people they meet on Facebook.”
