The former Minister of Aviation under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK) has defended his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He stated that his battles with President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 were only political insisting that he is not an angel neither is he a devil.
Defending his stance during an interview with Channels Television Politics Today, Fani-Kayode said that Nigeria is fighting a war that needs everyone to be united.
In his opinion, today’s issues are not about Buhari but about helping poor Nigerians.
According to him, “I am not the first to defect from a political party. Do all other defectors take back what they say ?
“Now is the time to work with Buhari to move the nation forward.”
FFK added that people should be treated fairly insisting that Nigerians should not fight each on religious or ethnic grounds.
The minister however warned that he won’t attack the PDP until they try to attack him.
He also dismissed reports that he left the PDP for financial gains, stressing that he is a very rich man and would have left the PDP if he was looking for money.
