The names of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo have been confirmed to be missing from the 2023 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential Campaign Council list.
APC however, debunked the claim that there is a rift between the presidential candidate of the party, Bola Tinubu and Osinbajo.
The party stated in a statement that President Muhammadu Buhari requested the exclusion of his vice.
The statement which disclosed that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha was also excluded from the list said, Buhari made the demand to allow them to focus on governance.
Days after the list of the presidential campaign council of APC was released, the name of the Vice President, Dolapo is also confirmed missing from the list of the women’s campaign team released by Oluremi Tinubu.
No reason was however, given for the exclusion.
The list which was released on Friday has the wife of President Buhari, Aisha as the Patron of the women’s campaign team, while Remi Tinubu, wife of the APC presidential candidate, and Nana Shettima, wife of the vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, will serve as chair and co-chairpersons.
The ruling party ahead of the 2023 general elections have been battling the controversy around its Muslim-Muslim ticket, which some believed that the presence of Osinbajo would have doused.
