International supermodel, Naomi Campbell is 50 today !
British born on May 22, 1970, Campbell’s is a story of success at every turn. she started her modelling career at 15 and has not recorded any idle moment ever since.
She has starred in all major international fashion events and featured on billboards and cover pages of the most renowned magazines. Indeed hers is a line up of enviable luxury brands and contracts.
The fashion icon was the very first black model to open for Pada and cover for Vogue and TIME magazines.
Campbell says she travels with an average of 6 suitcases per trip.
She is famed for her waste-long black hair, piercing brown eyes, sculpted cheek bones and an amazing pair of legs. Whatever look she wears, she comes across as one made for that look, from clothing to hairstyles and even make up.
Incidentally, Naomi is 50 just as ESSENCE Magazine also marked its 50th anniversary this month. Naturally, she was picked to feature on the magazine’s cover.
To express her joy at the coincidence, she posted that she is “so thrilled to be a part of history for 50th anniversary of @essence, which now has more than 50 billion impressions, making it their biggest debut ever. Congrats on 5 decades.”
Naomi also shares the May birth month with her friend and colleague, Grace Jones, another iconic supermodel, singer, actressand philanthropist. Grace Jones was born 19th May, 1952.
