The Nigerian Senate has summoned Ahmad Isa, popularly known as the Ordinary President of Brekete Family, to appear before it on February 27, 2025.
The summons is reportedly linked to a recent broadcast of the Brekete Family radio show, in which Senator Natasha spoke about her grievances especially her alleged marginalisation with Isa.
Haven given her account of her position in the red chamber, Isa went to on to call Senate President, Godswill Akpabio to hear his own side of the story. He picked his call the moment he was called the first time, but after Ahmad Isa introduced himself, the phone went d3ad. Attempts to call him back were apparently ignored.
The Senate’s directive that Ahmad Isa appear before it has sparked public debate, particularly over its warning that Isa could be deemed a criminal if he fails to comply. Some members of the public argue that such a stance may be an attempt to stifle press freedom and curtail the activities of Brekete Family.
