A 60-year-old native doctor has been arrested by the police in Delta State with 2 human skulls.
The native doctor, Godfrey Akpudje was arrested by operatives of the Delta State Police Command.
A statement released by the Acting Public Relations Officer, DSP Bringt Edafe says that on the 24th of June, a 35-year-old man Ejiro Okoro reported that the corpse of his his 65-year-old sister who died in 2019 and was buried in Ekpan Ovu was exhumed by unknown persons.
The police PRO said that it was based on this information that the DPO, Isiokolo Division went into action and instructed police detectives to investigate the case.
Intelligence reports led them to a prime suspect, the native doctor, Godfrey Akpudje.
According to Bringt Edafe, “On the strength of this report, the DPO Isiokolo division swung into action an detailed police detectives to investigate. During the course of investigation, information gathered through intelligence revealed that it was one Godfrey Akpudje, ‘m’, 60yrs who happens to be a native doctor that exhumed the corpse and removed the skull, he was immediately arrested and two human skulls were recovered from him.”
Akpudje claimed he got the skulls from another native doctor in Osun State who is now late.
