Some Nigerian naval officers allegedly invaded the Enerhen police station, Warri in Delta State, on Friday evening and violently attacked a police officer.
In the viral video, the assaulted officer could be seen moving restlessly inside the premises of the police station, surrounded by angry colleagues who were appealing to him to stay calm.
His face was bloodied and his police uniform partially torn.
The injured police officer later pulled off his shirt and hastened towards the gate, apparently to go after the naval officers who allegedly assaulted him.
The reason for the incident is still not known as at press time.
However, the Delta State Police spokesman, Bright Edafe, in an interview with Premium Times said they are treating the issue internally.
In his words, “We are treating that matter internally.”
