The Registrar of the National Examination Council (NECO), Prof Godswill Obioma has been killed by unknown armed men.
Reports say that the men stormed his residence in Minna, the Niger State capital and killed him without taking anything from his house.
Speaking to Peoples Gazette on phone on Tuesday morning, the NECO Registrar’s wife, Elizabeth Obioma said that, “The assassins came in and killed him without taking anything.”
She added that her husband had only just returned to Minna from Abuja when the armed men who had been lurking around the premises descended on him and strangled him.
Aged 67, Godswill Obioma, an Abia State indigene was appointed NECO Registrar on May 14 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The incident comes barely 48 hours after former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan was killed on his way to the airport in Owerri, Imo State.
