A newly elected lawmaker in the House of Representatives was on Wednesday, July 12, ordered out of the legislative chamber.
He is said to have been sent out of the chamber over improper dressing.
The lawmaker entered the chamber casually dressed in a red t-shirt and brown trousers. He reportedly sat at the upper gallery of the temporary chamber of the House when the House was almost rounding off the proceeding for the day.
A member of the House, Billy Osaweru, raised a point of order, drawing the attention of the Speaker to the lawmaker’s improper dressing. He noted that it contravened the House dressing code.
The lawmaker was forced out of the chamber after the speaker’s attention was drawn to his outfit.
