The bank customer who slumped and died at a bank in Agbor, Delta State has been identified.
Hettysmedia reported a few days ago that among many other heartbreaking incidents, a bank customer slumped and died after standing in a queue for long hours at the bank.
The deceased was said to have waited for hours to collect his Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card at the bank in Ika South Local Government Area of the state.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
“He was not trying to withdraw cash; he came to collect his ATM card,” the police spokesperson said.
The deceased was identified as Mr Vincent Igweh. Until his death, Igweh was said to be a building material merchant.
He died suddenly after spending hours unattended to due to the crowd and was rushed to St. John Catholic Hospital, Agbor where he was confirmed dead.
Receiving sympathizers at the deceased?s residence in Andy Iyama Street, Agbor, his wife said she got a call to come to the Catholic Hospital, Agbor, adding that when she got there, she discovered that her husband who left the house that morning hale and healthy was dead and had already been taken to the mortuary.
Some of the sympathizers, in their speech, maintained that the ugly incident is a result of the unpopular policies of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), that has brought untold hardship to Nigerians.
The Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele hails from Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area in Delta State.
