More plagues are looming and the world is not at ease.
Bubonic Plague:
The Sun, a U K newspaper reports that the “Black Death” outbreak in Mongolia has already infected 2 brothers. Also called the bubonic plague, the brothers became critically ill after they had eaten the marmot meat.
146 residents, with whom they came in contact are being tested while contact trying is on for a total of 500 people.
According to the World Health Organisation, the new epidemic can kill within 24 hours of contracting it if not contained on time. The World Health Organisation says the disease is spread by fleas that prey on wild rodents such as marmots.
Ponsoch Buyainbat, 27 and his 17 year old brother are in critical conditions and have been admitted in 2 separate hospitals in Western Mongolia. This was after Mongolia’s National Centre for Zoonotic Diseases confirmed that the plague has been diagnosed.
Scientists say that the bacteria can travel through the air or by infections from infected fleas and rats.
The symptoms include:
- Swelling of the lymph nodes
- Fever
- Chills
- vomiting
Wine Flu:
Chinese Scientists have also discovered a flu that looks like a looming plague. The World Health Organisation says it is a strain of the swine flu with a type of gene, G4.
Scientists also say there is no imminent threat but the Chinese advise close monitoring of the human populace. Close attention is particularly advised for workers in the swine industry as they are likely to be the main carriers.
Both diseases are being closely monitored as the W H O says the world will struggle to take on another plague in the light of the current #COVID19 pandemic.
Reports say that about 200 million people were killed by the bubonic plague in the 14th century.
