Information unearthed by a Nigerian youth, Chris C #wahalabelike@thedichotome is that the new CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal supports #EndSARS.
Agrawal who only a few days ago took over from the Founder, Jack Dorsey, played a significant part part in condemning police brutality and assault on Nigerian youths just like Dorsey.
He mounted the saddle as Chief Executive Officer of the microblogging platform on the 29th of November, 2021 following Dorsey’s resignation.
During the #EndSARS protest in October last year, the new CEO in a tweet, supported the movement.
According to him, “Horrified to see what’s happening in Nigeria #EndSARS.”
The tweet was unearthed by a Nigerian youth who urged government to adopt the report of the panel of enquiry into the Lekki Toll Gate shooting.
While announcing his exit, Dorsey said he decided to move on because it is “ready to move on from its founders.”
A post by MeghUpdates™@MeghBulletin· gives a snapshot of Agrawal’s profile:
“Jack Dorsey steps down as #Twitter CEO; IIT Bombay alumnus Parag Agrawal is successor”
Dorsey stated that Agrawal was chosen to lead the company given his knowledge of the organisation and its needs.
Part of his resignation reads, “I’ve chosen to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders. There aren’t many founders who choose their company over their own ego.
“There is a lot of talk about the importance of a company being ‘founder-led.’Ultimately, I believed that’s severely limiting and a signal point of failure.”
