A Nigerian woman is reported to be put up for sale for $1,000 in Lebanon.
Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri announced via her Twitter handle that the Nigerian Mission in Lebanon has launched a manhunt for the culprit.
Reports say the Lebanese, Wael Jerro posted the 30-year old Nigerian woman ‘s passport online, requesting for buyers.
A Nigerian, @TheViralTrenz had earlier tweeted that:
people will investigate and liaise with @naptipnigeria (who is in charge of trafficking) to bring this lady home.
Facebook records of Jerro say he is a graduate of the Arab Open University and resides in Beirut.
His advert for the sale of the Nigerian Woman:
“Domestic worker from Nigeria for sale with new legal documents. She is 30 years old, she is very active and very clean. Price: $1,000.
Abike Dabiri posted that “The Nigerian mission in Lebanon has since reported to the host authorities.”
She added that “A man hunt is on for the man and all out search for the young girl…Let’s keep her in our prayers.”
