Individuals, corporate organisations, NGOs remain unrelenting with donations to Debbie, a young lady who insists on putting her husband and marriage first.
According to Debbie, her husband once told her that a female colleague began bringing enough lunch for 2 with 2 spoons so they could eat together at work.
Touched by the relationship and not giving a chance to a challenged marriage, Debbie set her alarm for 4:50am to be able to prepare lunch and breakfast for her husband.
Not giving a thought to the outcome, she casually posted her plan and progress on the microblogging platform, X. She immediately started trending and within 12 hours was number one on the platform.
Moved by her gesture, Nigerians began to show appreciation with generous donations. So far, the unassuming housewife has received over N5 million in cash.
Unfortunately, but not surprising, others, especially equally young housewives slammed the dutiful wife for living a tradition of several generations past.
Soon after she began trending, tweeps changed her name from Debbie to Mummy Zee, coined from Gen Z, a common name for millennials.
Her husband, whose name is not yet known, is now Daddy Zee.
Recounting how it all started, Mummy Zee tweeted, “I’ve always been too lazy to wake up and get his lunch ready. But the day he told me a colleague brought two spoons so he’ll eat with her was the day I set my alarm for 4:50am.”
