Coronavirus Pandemic News - Women's Perspective

Nigerians who were evacuated from the U K arrived the Muritala Mohammed International Airport around 1:30pm this afternoon.

They landed aboard British Airways 9155. In line with set protocol, all the passengers will be evacuated to Abuja where they will undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

If found to be negative, they will all be allowed to go home.

According to the Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri Erewa, “All arrival protocols are being handled by @NigeriaMFA  and @nemanigeria”

Sadly, as at 3:45 pm the stranded passengers had still not been moved to Abuja according to Loretta Ogboro-Okor.

Loretta also alerted @abikedabiri that some of the evacuated passengers have background medical conditions requiring insulin or anti hypertensive, etc.

She lamented that “They have been at Lagos airport over 2 hours with no one to receive them or tell them the next step on how to get to Abuja….why?.”

In a swift reaction, Dabiri-Erewa advised Loretta to join her in alerting @NigeriaMFA, @GeoffreyOnyeama, @nemanigeria while she will do the same from her end.

Nigerians in South Africa have also requested when it will be their turn to be evacuated. The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission advised them to contact the Nigerian High Commission in that country.

In a similar development, 256 Nigerians Evacuated from the UAE arrived Nigeria yesterday.
