Nigerians Knock Ekiti Chef Trying to Break Hilda Baci’s Cook-a-thon Record

Nollywood actress and scriptwriter, Ruth Kadiri, along with many Nigerians have condemned the attempt by Ekiti chef, Damilola Adeparusi to break Hilda Baci’s unofficial 100-hour cook-a-thon record.

Chef Dami began a 120-hour cooking marathon in Oye Local Government Area in Ekiti State on Friday.

In May, Hilda made headlines by breaking the record for the longest cooking category of the Guinness World Record.

Chef Dami’s attempt at beating Hilda’s record has since received mixed reactions with many condemning the Ekiti chef for her lack of emotional intelligence and originality.

By 10:00am, Sunday June 11, she announced that she had done 60 hours and thanked the media, Nigerian leaders and celebrities for their support.

Not excited, Ruth Kadiri joined social media users dragging the chef, stating that she should have at least allowed Hilda to enjoy her win for a while before attempting to break it.

In a now-deleted post, the mother of two wrote:

They won’t think for themselves, but the moment you do it, everyone starts realising they can do it too. They can’t even wait for her euphoria to settle.

Meet Nigerians, my people.”

Dami responded that she is not competing with anybody but only chasing her passion and building a future for herself.
