It is curious to know that Bobrisky is not Nigeria’s first crossdresser.
Originally known as Idris Okuneye, used the power of social media to carve a niche for himself, resulting in his predecessors being almost completely forgotten.
Not many know, there was a cross dresser named Area Scatter who roamed the streets of 1970s Eastern Nigeria, playing melodic music with his ornamental thumb piano, singing in a rich, smooth voice and moving his body in an extraordinary yet fascinating manner.
Before the likes of Bobrisky were pictured in mainstream media, Area scatter, was the first and one of the few Nigerian crossdressers to first have appeared in mainstream media.
Area Scatter is said to have been a civil servant in the old days, but suddenly disappeared into the wilderness at some point during the years of the war, only to re-emerge 7 months and 7 days later, as a beautifully adorned woman.
He claimed that during this period, the gods equipped him with uncanny powers, which he used to enhance his musical talent and become more feminine.
Short clips shared on social media by @gozie_victor pictured Area Scatter performing for a local ruler and a crowd who seems to be intrigued but entertained.
