Nigeria’s National Assembly Cancels Resumption for the New Year

Members of Nigeria’s National Assembly have canceled resumption for the new year.

In a statement released Saturday, 23rd January, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Arc Ojo Amos stated that the lawmakers will not be resuming on the 26th of January, 2021 as earlier scheduled.

The resumption date is now billed for Tuesday, 9th of February, 2020.

According to him, the resumption was canceled to enable lawmakers who are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) participate in the party’s membership registration and revalidation exercise scheduled to begin on Monday, 25th January, 2020.

The lawmakers had adjourned plenary on the 21st of December till 26th of January to enable members celebrate Christmas and New Year.
