Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu is dead.
He is said to have died on Tuesday night at the age of 37.
Asuzu ventured into acting in the 90s and became popular after he starred in the 1997 classic movie, ‘Rituals.’
He remained consistent with movie roles until 2015 when he came down with a stroke. The illness affected his speech and left him bedridden for 3 years.
He is reported to have attributed his ailment to a spiritual attack but hoped to recover and return to his passion as an actor and singer.
In 2020, Asuzu released an album titled “The Truth.”
Reports say that Ernest Asuzu slumped in a hotel at Isolo , Lagos. He was rushed to the Isolo General Hospital but declared dead on arrival.
The President, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas confirmed the incident to Channels Television.
According to him, “Yes it is confirmed. I reached out to his wife. He has been battling with various health challenges like blood pressure. But she kind-hearted Nigerians helped in the past and he was treated.
“So he has been hale and hearty. But suddenly, yesterday, he just fainted.”
