Some angry northern youths have torn and burnt down the billboard of President Tinubu’s 2027 presidential re-election bid.
The reason behind their action is not yet known but some members of the public said it could be connected to some of the issues that they perceive as against them.
Earlier in the week, there was an uproar following a 10-day total blackout in the region. Some residents claim that it was after the public outcry that the electricity was fixed.
Likewise, governors in the northern region stood against a tax reform bill passed in the House. The NEC held a meeting and it was proposed that the bill be withdrawn but President Tinubu in a response rejected the appeal while asking them to seek redress during a public hearing.
Furthermore, some northern children were arraigned in court on Thursday for their involvement in the End Bad Governance protest in August which saw some state properties being looted.
Upon the arrival of the children and teenagers in court on Thursday, about four of them fainted, a condition that some watchers said could be due to malnourishment. They were therefore, given a few slices of biscuits before the hearing. At the hearing, the court granted them a bail of N10 Million; an impossible condition for them to reach.
