The Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Ukwu Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II and his 5th wife, Queen Aisosa yesterday, held the naming ceremony of their quadruplets, 3 boys and 1 girl.

The monarch, as with every father, was seen full of joy as he hugged his princes and process who were born in August, 2022.

Momentous NG also reports that the revered Benin monarch welcomed another baby boy by his 2nd wife, Queen Iyayota.

Oba Ewuare mounted the stool of his ancestors on the 20th of October, 2016. He welcomed the baby boy only a few weeks ago.

In line with the tradition of the land, the king named the baby accordingly. The new addition to the ancient Bini kingdom is Prince Idugbowa Ewuare II.

In attendance were high chiefs, nobles and notable guests from far and wide.

The Kingdom of Benin (also known as the Edo Kingdom, or the Benin Empire) was a kingdom in what is now in southwestern Nigeria.

It has no historical relation to the modern republic of Benin, which was historically known as Dahomey from the 17th century until 1975. The Kingdom of Benin’s capital was Edo, now known as Benin City in Edo state, Nigeria.

The Benin Kingdom was “one of the oldest and most developed states in the coastal hinterland of West Africa“. It was formed around the 11th century AD, and lasted until it was annexed by the British Empire in 1897.
