Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo has tested for covid19. The test was carried out on Friday, the 7th of August, 2020.
His Special Assistant on Media, Kehind Akinyemi, gave the information today, 9th of August.
Akinyemi reports that Chief Obasanjo’s test for covid19 result to the dreaded disease returned negative. The test was carried out at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Pent House residence, Okemosan, Abeaokuta, Ogun State.
According to Akinyemi, “the samples of the test, conducted by one Dr Olukunle Oluwasemowo of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory 54gene, Lagos, Nigeria was returned negative on Saturday.
“The laboratory is one of the accredited laboratories approved by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to conduct the crucial covid19 test on both asymptomatic and symptomatic Nigerians.”
Former president Olusegun Obasanjo was in the news yesterday for the condolence message he posted on the death of Senator Buruji Kashamu.
Kashamu died 2 days ago from #COVID19 and Obasanjo said that the “life and history of the departed Kashamu have lessons for those of us on this side of the veil.
“Esho Jinadu (Buruji Kashamu), in his lifetime, used the manoeuvre of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offences in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. But, no legal, political, cultural, social or even medical manoeuvre could stop the cod hand of death when the Creator of all of us decides that the time is up.
