The General Overseer of the Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has finally reacted to the demolition of part of his church building by the Anambra State task force.
The building, according to reports had been marked for demolition prior to the actual execution. This according to officials of the government, is because it was built on a major canal.
On the 7th of July, members of the state task force stormed the premises with heavy equipment to carry out the demolition order.
A video taken during the exercise showed the moment a member of the task force assaulted the popular prophet who tried to resist the operation.
Governor Soludo condemned the action of the officer and ordered that he be sanctioned in accordance with the law.
Many citizens of Anambra State equally condemned the demolition exercise lamenting that it affected many houses in the area
Prominent among those who berated the governor’s action was veteran Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, a member of Odumeje’s Church.
Edochie, in her Instagram post, stated that the demolition of the church should not have been a priority to the state government.
She noted that there were other social menaces like “insecurity, bad roads and uncleanliness in Anambra State.”
Rita Edocie’s post:
Bolu ordered that Odumeje be made to bear the cost of the demolition since he had received warnings from the government to take out the structure but refused.
On his part, the cleric took to the official Facebook page of the church to react to the demolition. He posted a video of himself in a car, dancing to a tune in Igbo, which is loosely interpreted to mean, “The children of God, the good ones are in America, Europe, China, Asia, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia.
“Odumeje, the wind that cannot be caught by the trap of the enemies! All your problems are gone when Jesus comes in.
“Demons are afraid of me because of the glory of God. Black magic (juju) is afraid of me because of the glory of Jesus. When the power of God comes, sickness, others will run.”
