Another Nigerian chef, Tope Maggie has commenced a 200-hour cooking marathon aka cook-a-thon to dethrone Irish chef and current record holder, Alan Fisher.
Tope’s quest comes on the heels of Alan Fisher‘s recent Guinness World Records achievement, where he surpassed Nigeria’s chef, Hilda Baci as the longest cooking record holder.
Guinness World Records officially declared Alan Fisher as the new title holder for the longest cooking marathon (individual), completing an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes.
He surpassed Hilda’s 93 hours, 11 minutes feat.
Fisher also claimed the longest baking marathon (individual) title, clocking in at 47 hours and 21 minutes, surpassing the previous record set by Wendy Sandner from the USA.
Days after Alan Fisher’s record-breaking feat, the Ogbomosho man is set to cook for 200 hours, aiming to surpass Fisher’s 119 hours and 57 minutes.
The culinary rivalry continues as Nigerian chefs strive for culinary excellence on the global stage.
On Friday, Tope’s doctor certified fit enough to embark on the marathon. The kickoff was subsequently announced by his media team.
