Ohaneze Ndigbo President-General Contestant Becomes Incoherent, Slumps

There was pandemonium on Sunday as the leading contestant for the post of President-General of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Prof George Obiozor suddenly slumped at the emergency Ime-Obi meeting.

The meeting was convened to resolve the differences arising from the 40-man list of electoral committee members for the 2021 election of Ohaneze Ndigbo socio-cultural group.

The list was submitted to the current President-General, Chief Nina Nwoko on the 6th of December.

Prof Obiozor was said to have suddenly started shivering aggressively and talking to himself where he sat while someone sitting close by screamed for help.

While be helped out of the hall, he started talking very fast and incoherently.

He was taken out of the venue in his car with the Enugu State ambulance driving closely behind.

While being rushed to the car, Obiozor was heard screaming intermittently.

The member of the Ime-obi group of Ohaneze Ndigbo who sat close to him at the meeting told journalists that “he suddenly started behaving funny and talking to himself. I noticed that he was not feeling well and called for help.”

However, Chief Nwodo who briefed journalists after the meeting said that Ime-Obi unanimously endorsed the appointment of Chief Gary Enwo-Igariwey from Ebonyi State as the chairman of the Electoral Committee for the January 11, 2021 election.
