Charismatic paramount ruler, Oluwo of Iwoland, Osun State, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has announced his wedding to a Kano Princess, Firdaus Abdulahi.

The wedding invitation card reads that the event will hold on the 19th of March, 2022 at the residence of Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, in Kano State.

He also announced that there will be a ladies-only reception at the palace of the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

The monarch divorced his Canadian-born wife of Jamaican origin, Chanel Chin in 2019 citing irreconcilable differences.

While the estranged wife accused the Oba of drug abuse, sexual abuse of a minor and erratic behaviour, he accused her of deceit saying she seduced him into marrying her.

The Oluwo had announced in an interview with the BBC his planned wedding saying that the date will be made known in due course.

A great wife, matrimonial material and morally upright princess becoming a Queen.

The glory is not mine alone. It belongs to all of us who trust in our way, an undiluted monarchy that resigns only to God, The Creator.

We reference God for everything.
