One Killed as Heavy Duty Truck Crushes Vehicle in Lagos

 There was confusion at the Costain roundabout in the early hours of today, Thursday after a 40-feet heavy duty truck crushed a smaller vehicle.

One person has been confirmed dead in the accident while others reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries.

The deceased is reported to be a male passenger in the smaller vehicle, while the three injured survivors include a lady and two men.

An eyewitness told Vanguard that the incident happened at about 5.30 am, killing one yet be identified man on the spot.

Men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, members of the Nigerian Police, and
Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit, SEHMU, and other emergency responders were soon at the scene for rescue operations and reduce the impact on the rush hour vehicular traffic.

Confirming the incident, Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu said “LASEMA, LRT, LASAMBUS officials has handed over the bagged remains of the unidentified adult male crushed to death by the fallen 40-feet container at COSTAIN roundabout to officials of SEHMU.”
