Popular Nigerian singer and actress, Onyeka Onwenu has opened up on an alleged secret marriage with former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo
She stated her position in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo where she debunked claims that she slept with te ex-president.
She denied being married to Obasanjo saying that if he had approached her to marry him, she would not have kept it a secret.
Onwenu recalled people also accusing her of sleeping with many big men in Nigeria including popular musicians when she was growing up.
According to her, “I was accused of sleeping with Sunny Ade, Sunny Okosun, Fela and Obasanjo.
“They even went to the extent of saying I got married to Obasanjo secretly. If he approached me to marry him, why would I keep it secret ? We would have made it public so that was funny.”
Onyeka Onwenu revealed that she would have been dead if she had stayed married to her ex-husband had her brother not saved her.
She added that her ex-husband was an amazing person and they had a most beautiful relationship. Unfortunately, circumstances made him change and instead of dealing with those circumstances, he took it out on her, being the closest to him.
