Nollywood actress, Victoria Inyama has reacted to the recent marriages of the Yoruba monarch, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, to 4 different women within 2 months.
Victoria’s view is coming a day after the king wedded his 7th wife, Princess Ashley Folashade Adegoke who is also the 4th live-in spouse since his coronation.
In her reaction, the actress faulted the marriages stating that all the women are just marrying tradition and not the man.
While questioning if the trend is a community development scheme, the actress noted that the situation is not fair to both parties adding that it may not be what the Ooni really wants.
Her post on social media: “All these women are just to massage his Ego, he’s not even present there, the women are marrying Tradition Not man and the women just want that status symbol….it’s a community development scheme….not fair on all of them even the King….he’s human and I doubt this is really what he wants.”
The Ooni officially wedded his long-time concubine, Princess Ashley Adegoke in grand style on Friday, October 14, 2022.
This comes barely five days, after the highly esteemed Yoruba traditional ruler married his third wife, Tobi Philips.
Ashley’s wedding ceremony was held at her late father’s family compound on Olubose Street, along Ede road, IIe-Ife.
Unlike his wedding to the Edo-born Zainab Otiti Obanor which held at the palace of the Oba of Benin, the Ooni has not personally attended his marriages to all subsequent queens.
Nonetheless, his chiefs, the royal guards and the royal staff of office were there to represent him.
