Osinbajo in High Spirits, Shares Picture after Successful Surgery

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has shared a picture of himself as he recuperates after a successful surgery on his leg.

The picture, was shared on Sunday via his Twitter page. Along with his personal aide were has his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo and some hospital staff in the frame.

The Vice President appreciated the hospital staff and all well-wishers for the ‘get-well’ messages he has been receiving.

He also used the occasion to thank Nigerians and others who wished him a quick and speedy recovery.

Prof Yemi Osinbajo posted: “And special appreciation to the amazing team of surgeons, doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and the management of the Duchess International Hospital Lagos, for providing such excellent care. God bless you all. ~Y.O”

The statement was followed by another from his spokesperson, Laolu Akande on his own Twitter page.

He wrote: “VP thanks everyone for the tremendous get well wishes, prayers and goodwill on the surgical operation. 

“My deep gratitude to everyone for your get-well wishes and prayers following my surgery.

“He also commended the team of surgeons and all staff of Duchess International Hospital.”

The Vice President underwent surgery on a leg injury he sustained from a gain of squash.

According to his spokesman, Laolu Akande, the surgery became necessary because of recurrent pain in the leg.

He had said: ‘’VP Osinabjo is in the hospital today for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash. His doctors would give an update of the treatment later today.’’
