APC presidential aspirant and current Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo was today rescued from a security breach at the venue of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election screening.

Reports say that supporters of the Vice President unexpectedly stormed the venue chanting solidarity slogans, a development considered a breach of protocol and security.

Osinbajo took his turn in the presidential screening exercise which lasted over an hour but was prevented from entering his waiting vehicle at the VIP section of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel where the screening exercise held ahead of Saturday’s presidential primary election.

The Whistler reports that supporters chanting “Osinbajo, we love you” descended on the venue and made to grab him, creating a security breach while the VP’s security team struggled to gain control of the situation.

Operatives of the State Security Service and heavily armed mobile policemen quickly formed a shield around the Vice President who stumbled into his waiting car.

Even as the vehicle zoomed off, the wooden barricades were destroyed as his supporters scaled them, breaking some sections in the process.
