The Governor-elect of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke has thanked voters who ensured his success at the last governorship election for their support.
The Adeleke family is reputed to have a strong affinity with the Igbo tribe as the elected governor’s father is said to have married an Igbo woman while one of his brothers equally married a women from the same part of Nigeria.
The information was corroborated by Onyeimeluigwe Çhiagozie: *Senator Ademola Adeleke, Governor Elect Of Osun State.* *His elder brother Deji Adeleke, speaks impeccable Igbo. Their mom was Igbo lady from Akwete. Siblings were born and raised in Enugu.*
The former lawmaker’s favourite nephew and music icon, Davido is also engaged to an Igbo lady, Chioma, with whom he has a son, Ifeanyi.
Speaking in fluent Igbo language during an interview with BBC, Adeleke expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of Osun voters.
In his words:
“My people, I bring you greetings.
“My name is Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“I recall when when I went round canvassing for support, you were kind enough to give me your votes.
“I’m here to fulfil all the promises I made to you, by the grace of GOD.
“You all tried very well for me. You really did try. I thank you very much. It shall be well with you all.
“I must reiterate that I will make good all my promises. I will work really hard.
“Our opponents are tough, really tough, but what I can tell you is that it will no longer be business as usual.
“My term in office will not be business as usual. The evidence will be there for all visitors to see.
“I prayed GOD to give me the post of governor, and HE did, and HIS agenda is for me to bring reforms to Osun. That way, every resident will have a sense of belonging.
“That is my promise.
“Warm greetings from me.”
