A Nigerian medical doctor, identified as Tony, allegedly d!ed after consuming a drink allegedly laced with poison by his kinsman.
The incident took place on Boxing Day, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The tragic incident occurred in Nenu, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, where a
Prince Agbara, a friend of the deceased, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook. According to Agbara, Dr. Tony, who was alive and well on Christmas Day, tragically lost his life the following day after consuming the poisoned drink.
“This is disheartening. Somebody that was alive and healthy on the 25th, poisoned on the 26th through drink and he vomited and that was it, by his kinsman. On noticing that my friend had died he ran away with his family,” Agbara wrote in his post.
The alleged culprit, upon realizing the doctor had d!ed, fled the village with his family.
The incident has sparked outrage among locals, with many calling for justice and a thorough investigation into the matter. The authorities are yet to release an official statement or confirm if efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect.
