Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has allegedly joined his ancestors.
According to sources within the palace, Oba Aromolaran passed on yesterday after a brief illness.
Though, palace of Owa Obokun has not issued any official statement as regards the passage of the monarch, but sources within the palace confirmed the d3ath.
“Baba has passed, but we are waiting for officials announcement from the palace.
“You can see that they have started performing some traditional rites. This has to be done before any announcement can be made,” she added.
Security personnel are said to currently present around the palace.
Some traditional rites typically performed following the demise of a king are also being carried out.
The monarch reigned for over 40 years.
