The owner of Bama Hotel and Suites identified as Alaba has allegedly been killed by his wife, Motunrayo in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos.
Reports say the couple only just returned from an expensive vacation in Dubai with their 3 when an argument ensued over Alaba’s illicit affair with another woman whom he got pregnant.
The argument degenerated into a fight which led Motunrayo to plug a pressing iron with which she burnt the husband on the chest and several parts of his body.
The victim is said to have died from the injuries while receiving treatment in the hospital where he was rushed to.
The incident occurred on the 14th of January, 2022. However, there are 2 versions to the story, according reports.
Posting his version on Facebook, Kelly Hassino said that “The wife of the owner of the popular Bama hotel and suites in Agbule Egba in Lagos state has killed him last night while sleeping for finding out he impregnated a Lady!
“Bama as he’s fondly called just returned from an expensive vacation in Dubai along with her and their three kids. They have been married for 8 years.Worst of all was the manner in which she killed him.
“She first of all drugged him and when he slept off and lost all his senses, she plugged a pressing iron to the hottest and burnt him on several parts of his body until he died..
“This is callous a disturbingly painful, a cold and calculated murder.Dear wives, stop killing your husbands over infidelity.
“African men were originally polygamous in nature before the whites came in a turned everything upside down.
“Such a young and accomplished entrepreneur cut in his prime by his own wife just for acting true to his biology.“
Punch reports that the hotel owner’s wife, during interrogation claimed her husband refused to sack a worker which resulted in an argument.
During the fight that followed, she used a hot iron to burn his chest.
The newspaper is said to have quoted a source as saying that “She advised her husband to apply something to his chest, but he said she shawl not worry that it is a small thing and it would heal.
“She later said that they were having fun the following day when her husband suddenly started gasping for breath. They wore clothes and rushed him to a hospital where he died the same day. She never said she drugged her husband.“
The Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu confirmed the incident and said the deceased’s remains have been deposited in the morgue while the wife and 3 others have been arrested.
