Segun Olowookere, a convict recently pardoned by Governor Ademola Adeleke after being sentenced to d3ath for allegedly stealing chickens has shared his experiences in prison.
He gave the details during an interview with The Punch. Olowookere also revealed what he would do if he comes across the judge who sentenced him to d3ath, if given the opportunity to meet him.
When asked if he wants the government to revisit his case, he said he doesn’t want government to do anything and that he already forgave those who caused his ordeals.
He said, “If I have the opportunity to meet the judge who sentenced me to d3ath, I will prostrate and thank him.”
He claimed that if the judge had discharged and acquitted him during the trials, then only God knows what the person who framed him and planned what happened to him would have done to him afterwards.
He said the person might have found another way to k!ll him instead, if he had been set free earlier and by now, he wouldn’t be alive to tell the true story behind his ordeal.
Speaking further, he said, “The judge who sentenced me did well…he added a chance for the governor to pardon me after 10 years. I do not harbour any ill feeling towards the judge, or anybody.”
