Parents of Don-Davies Archibong, the JSS1 student of Deeper Life High School, Uyo who was sexually abused, starved and molested by senior students have demanded N100 million as compensation from the school.

Deborah Okezie, Don-Davies’s mother raised an alarm over several video posts alleging that her son came home after his first 2 months in the school grossly emaciated, traumatised, sick, emotionally unstable and with a torn anus.

Deborah and Don-Davies’ father Iniobong, in a letter through their lawyers, Eagle-Eyes Chambers have demanded the compensation for the trauma and damages caused their son.

The letter dated December 22, 2020 and addressed to the principal is titled “Gross Child Abuse, Palpable Molestation, Serial Bullying, Criminal Starvation, Malicious Oppression, and Dubious Maltreatment of Master Don-Davies Archibong (11 years old) by the Principal and Boarding Master of Deeper Life Secondary School, Uyo.”

The School was given 21 days to pay the N100 million.

Excerpts of the letter:

“We are the solicitors for Mr and Mrs Iniobong Archibong, resident in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State hereinafter referred to as our client.

“We have the firm explicit and unequivocal instructions to write to you in the above subject matter.

“It is indeed provocatively heartbroken, morally suicidal, religiously hypocritical that our clients’ 11-year-old son was torrentially bombarded with physical and inhuman torture of debilitating dimensions with resultant castration of his human person, dignity and childhood innocence.

“We respectfully demand the payment of N100 million within 21 days upon the receipt of this letter as compensation to assuage the dehumanising horrendous torture and indignity our client’s son was subjected to and for his medical checkup and medication,”

The governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom recently announced that it would withdraw investigations on the matter while the police and other relevant agencies deal with the case.

The Governor’s position was made known by the Commissioner for information and Strategy, Ini Ememobong in a statement on Thursday.

He however appealed for calm and patience from the public to enable thorough investigations t be carried out.
