An interesting trend is currently playing out in Nigeria where party planners have ditched expensive imported souvenirs and gone local.
This comes with the skyrocketing foreign exchange rates and the shelf prices of even the commonest party souvenirs.
Yours truly recently went to a party where eggs were packaged in lovely transparent half crates and bags of oranges.
Some of us would normally leave towels, plastic cups, plates, bowls and buckets on our tables on our way out of the venues because our pantries are over-stocked with old souvenirs.
We were only really glad and impressed with the innovation. It went a step further to serve as a marketing strategy for the host whom we learnt has a massive poultry.
Questions were asked and we discovered she has a massive orange and animal farm with chickens, pigs and goats.
Of course, were are all now hooked on her farm.
The same goes with with the host of the party in the video below who chose to give away bunches of plantain.
