"Gist"

The Pastor of Peculiar Generation Assembly Church, Chris McDouglas Omosokpea who was accused of sexually abusing a minor has allegedly sold the church building.

Reports say he has also fled to an unknown location in Lekki where he founded another church.

Omosokpea is said to have been arrested in June 2020 but granted bail on health grounds.

He is alleged to sexually abused a 14-year-old girl for four years before he was arrested and charged to court for defilement.

When the case came up yesterday, March 2nd before the Presiding Magistrate at the Ogba Magistrate Court, Lagos, he was nowhere to be found.

However, some members of the church were present but the case was adjourned till April 21, 2021.

Some members of the church were also at the church premises only to discover that it had it had been pulled down by the new owner.

The pastor’s disappearance and decision to sell the church building has remained a source of worry for the entire congregation.

This is more so as he had convinced them of his innocence with the case of sex abuse.

Prior to his arrest, Pastor Chris McDouglas Omosokpea was accused by the 14-year old girl of deceiving her with fake prophesies.

She said she kept it away from her parents who had been members of the church for 12 years.

Prior to the incident, her parents and family were convinced that Pastor Douglas was a true man of God with whom they could entrust their daughter anytime.

Reports say that when the young girl could not endure the ordeal anymore, she threatened to commit suicide several times. Her parents then convinced her to disclose what she was passing through that got her so traumatised.

She opened up and told them that Pastor Douglas has been sexually abusing her for the past four years.

She also told them how much fear she instilled in her that made her keep it away from them.
