The Pastor and Founder of Life Transformation Praying Ministry in Akwakuma, Owerri, Rev Dr Success Emeka has been forced to marry the corpse of his fiancee.
He was disgraced and subjected to the ordeal because he forced the fiancee, Success Chioma Sunday to abort a pregnancy after he drugged her.
Reports say he took the action to save his reputation.
The pastor started dating Chioma 5 years ago and they got engaged in 2020 and began planning their wedding.
However, Chioma became pregnant while the wedding plans were ongoing but the pastor rejected the pregnancy saying it would damage his reputation.
The family of the deceased alleged that the pastor drugged Chioma’s drink, took her to a hospital and requested that the doctor terminate the pregnancy.
The doctor is said to have objected but pastor Emeka insisted. Unfortunately, Success started vomiting blood during the procedure and reportedly died before her family could intervene.
A representative of Success’s family, Wilfred Okoye, in a statement said the autopsy showed that the pastor attempted to perform the abortion while she was unconscious but his technique failed so he took her to the hospital.
Another family member said he tried to stop the unhealthy relationship between Chioma and Pastor Emeka but did not know when she returned to her fiancé.
The family then forced him to marry her corpse before the funeral. She was buried on Tuesday, August 31st in Umuhia, Abia State.
