A Pastor of the Christ Apostolic Church, Michael Adeyeye has narrated his ‘miracle’ escape from the den of his abductors after they fell asleep.

The Oko Ago community in Ajoni Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State are currently celebrating the miracle.

Reports say that Adeyeye was kidnapped last Saturday by men he described as Fulani Bororo herdsmen.

They had demanded a N50million ransom before reducing it to N15million after phone negotiations with families of the kidnapped cleric.

The pastor’s miracle freedom sent the community into joyous celebrations yesterday after residents received the news that he had escaped and was at Eruku in Kwara State awaiting a vehicle to convey him back to Oke Ako.

Youths of the Oke Ako community are said to have come out en mass to welcome him back while the elders of the community made music and danced around the town.

Narrating his ordeal and how he escaped the kidnappers, Adeyeye, said he, alongside his 4 abductors walked in the forest throughout Saturday night and Sunday.

According to him, he was in the Church with other members for a vigil on Saturday when the assailants stormed the church service at about 10:20 pm.

He said that asked: “’where is a pastor?’ On locating me, they tied my hands and ordered me to follow them. We went into the bush.

Speaking further Pastor Michael Adeyeye stated that, “The following day, Sunday, they asked me to call my family to get N50million ransom across to them for me to regain my freedom. We were using my phone which they had already sei5 am for the calls. Later, they reduced the ransom to N15million.

“Unfortunately for the gunmen, on Monday morning, at about 5 am, the God of covenant demonstrated his awesomeness. I saw the CAC Founder, Apostle Ayo Babalola, in a vision. That was what woke me up to discover that my abductors were fast asleep.

“So, I rose and stealthily moved away from the location into the bush. I kept walking in the bush until Tuesday morning when I got to Eruku, a town in Kwara State. On getting to the town, I called one of my brothers whose phone number I know offhand.”

Adeyeye confirmed that his abductors were Fulani Bororos based on their language and physical appearance.

He said: “Their guns looked like AK-47, the guns appeared fabricated. I am happy about my escape. I am happy to be reunited with my people and church members. I can see love from the community.”

The Christian cleric commended the efforts of security agencies saying; “The report I had on my return is that operatives of the police, Amotekun, Nigerian Army, vigilante and local hunters did their best on the matter. Our people said the security agencies went into the bush on a rescue mission to ensure my release and apprehension of the criminals.”

Mbororo or Bororo are a small subgroup of the Fulani ethnic group. They are traditionally nomadic cattle-herders and traders in the Sahel, with migrations stretching from southern Niger, through northern Nigeria, northeastern Cameroon, southwestern Chad, western region of the Central African Republic and the northeastern of the Democratic Republic of Congo .
