The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi is now known to honour royals and past leaders by adorning outfits related to thier cultures or personalities anytime he visits them.
When he paid a courtesy call to Nigeria’s former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, he wore the retired General’s signature cap.
During his visit to the i Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, Obi adorned the Hausa traditional Babariga that looked very much like that won by average Kano indigenes.
By the morning of Tuesday, September 27, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party visited the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
Expectedly, he adorned a signature Yoruba Sokoto and Danchiki with a matching cap, walking spritely beside the energetic monarch.
Obi who is usually dressed in a black senator wear, dumped the attire to rock the traditional native Yoruba clothing to identify with the culture.
Obidients in the crowd were only too excited to see him in their cultural outfit. They cheered him on as he entered the palace with the Ooni.
He visited traditional ruler at his residence in Ile-Ife, Osun State alongside some stakeholders of the party.
The visit is understood to be part of consultations for his 2023 presidential ambition.
On one of his visits to former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Obi dropped his signature Senator wear for a casual Ankara combination.
