The Labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has arrived, Osogbo Osun State to rally support for the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Lasun Yusuf.
The Osun gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold on July 16, 2022.

While Lasun Yusuf is the governorship candidate of the Labour Party, Gboyega Oyetola, the incumbent governor, is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ademola Adeleke is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Other candidates are, Akin Ogunbiyi of Accord Party, and Goke Omigbodun of Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Yusuf escaped an assassination attempt in the early hours of Monday as gunmen reportedly invaded his country home in Ilobu Irepodun local government area of the state.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed his residence around 2.00 a.m of the day but were vehemently resisted by his security guards.
Governor Oyetola however, stated that Lasun posed no political so there is no reason why anyone would be after his life.
Nonetheless, the police has commenced investigations into the incident.
