Reports just received say that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Peter Obi is likely to succumb to the pressure from support groups asking him to dump the PDP.
The former Anambra State governor is said to be firming up plans to defect to the Labour Party, due to the politics of the PDP delegates’ election.
This comes after the Coalition for Peter Obi (COP) piled pressure on the former governor to leave the PDP in order to realize his ambition to be president of Nigeria.
The support groups warned the former vice presidential candidate of what will become of his political career if he failed to leave the PDP as most of the delegates in the party are bought by money bags who will vote in the forthcoming PDP presidential primary.
They, therefore, advised the former governor to move to another political party to be at peace with his conscience.
This, they advised would also mean he will not entangle himself in possible political negotiations or maneuvering that will negatively impact his integrity and compromise his ability to serve Nigerians.
This was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by the conveners of the Coalition of over 17 support groups that recently organized a One-Million-Man March which witnessed a massive turnout across the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
A bold step that will give victory.
