A former 2019 vice presidential candidate and ex Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has revealed his next line of action.
His aides say he has resolved to continue his presidential quest on the platform of the Labour Party.
Reports emerged this evening that Obi resigned from the main opposition the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He also submitted his letter of resignation.
In the letter dated May 24, the foremost PDP aspirant informed the National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, of his resignation from the PDP and withdrawal from the party’s forthcoming presidential primaries.
A source within Obi’s camp told THE WHISTLER that the former governor and former vice-presidential candidate will now be forging ahead with his presidential ambition on the platform of the Labour Party.
The source, however, noted that the presidential aspirant is under pressure to join the Social Democratic Party (SDP), where he is said to have been promised an automatic ticket for the 2023 presidential race.
